Hi! My name is Jellie, but you can call me Jill. I have a degree in Home Economics and after passing the Licensure Examination for Teachers, I started working for Pines International Academy. At the end of my first year, I was given the Rookie of the Year award! My two basic principles of teaching are: 1) Encourage students to apply language rules in real-life conversations to ensure life-long learning, and 2) Each student is unique, so I adapt my lessons to each learning style to achieve the best results. I also believe that having a good teacher-student relationship has an impact on learning, so as a teacher, I try to be fun and flexible. Moreover, I try to know my student’s weaknesses, strengths, and goals.
Understanding weaknesses would lead to appropriate methods and techniques which would lead to improvement. Strengths that are further enhanced would lead to mastery. My students and I having a common goal means us having the same target, thus, reaching for a common destination which is success. Finally, I try to live by Albert Einstein’s words, “it is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” I hope I get to inspire that same joy in you in our class. See you soon!
